Quick Trigger Kennels
A homepage for a dog breeding business.
Visit ProjectThe Problem
Quick Trigger Kennels needed an online presence to showcase their dog breeding business and connect with potential puppy buyers. Without a website, they relied on word-of-mouth and limited social media presence, making it difficult to reach a broader audience and communicate their breeding practices, available litters, and services effectively.
My Role
I created the Quick Trigger Kennels website as a freelance project. I designed a site that reflects the professionalism and care that goes into their breeding program, built pages to showcase available puppies and breeding information, and implemented contact forms and features that help the business connect with customers.
Tech Stack
-
HTML: Formed the semantic structure of the site, organizing content logically and ensuring accessibility for all visitors, including those using assistive technologies.
-
CSS: Used to create the visual design that feels appropriate for a breeding business — warm, trustworthy, and professional. Custom styling ensured the site is responsive across devices while maintaining a cohesive look.
-
JavaScript: Used for interactive elements and functionality throughout the site.
Key Features
-
Breed Information: Detailed information about Labrador breeding practices and the care that goes into raising healthy puppies.
-
Available Puppies: Showcases current litters with individual profiles, photo galleries, and availability status to help potential buyers find the right puppy.
-
Custom CMS: Built a custom content management system that allows the breeder to update site content independently, including adding new puppy photos and updating availability.
-
Contact & Inquiry: Contact forms and information make it easy for potential puppy buyers to reach out and ask questions.
Lessons Learned
Building the Quick Trigger Kennels website taught me about creating robust update processes. The biggest challenge was enabling the site to stay current as details changed and new pictures were added — it started as a manual process, but I eventually built a custom CMS so the breeder could manage updates independently.
I also discovered that clients need more than a static website — they need the ability to easily update content as their business evolves. Giving clients control through a custom CMS creates more value and reduces ongoing maintenance burden.
