Perception Website
A homepage for a web management freelance client.
Visit ProjectThe Problem
My client needed a professional homepage to establish their web management business and attract potential clients. They had no online presence, making it difficult to showcase their services, portfolio, and expertise to prospective customers in a crowded market.
My Role
I designed and built the Perception website as a complete freelance project. I worked with the client to understand their brand and target audience, created a visual design that reflected their professional approach to web management, and implemented a fully responsive website that effectively communicates their value proposition.
Tech Stack
-
HTML: Provided the semantic foundation for the site’s structure, ensuring accessibility and search engine optimization. Clean HTML made the site performant and maintainable.
-
CSS: Used for the visual design and responsive layouts. Custom CSS enabled precise control over typography, spacing, and the overall aesthetic while ensuring the site looked great on all device sizes.
-
JavaScript: Used for form handling and interactive elements throughout the site.
Key Features
-
Service Showcase: Clear presentation of web management services that communicates value and expertise to potential clients.
-
Portfolio Display: Features previous client work to demonstrate capabilities and build trust with prospective clients.
-
Contact Forms: Easy-to-use contact forms that allow potential clients to reach out and inquire about services.
-
Responsive Design: Fully responsive layout that ensures the site looks professional and functions properly on all devices and screen sizes.
Lessons Learned
The Perception website project taught me about client management — working with a client to gather requirements, set realistic timelines, communicate changes effectively, and deliver on time. This was very different from day-to-day class work during college.
I also learned that the biggest takeaway from freelance work is developing soft skills — communicating with clients, managing expectations, and translating vague requirements into a finished product that meets their needs.
